Chestnut or conker? A typical debate that can ignite a Sunday afternoon family discussion. Bearing in mind your cosy weekly meetings, we added yummy chestnuts to our recipe to sublimate the Gala apple. But what is actually the difference? Coming from two different chestnut trees, if the shell contains several fruits, they are chestnuts, otherwise it is a conker. It’s now up to you to show off next Sunday.
Once a dish for the underprivileged, chestnuts are nowadays a favorite of festive meals… and of your babies’ pouches! By the way, did you know that the chestnut tree is called the breadfruit tree? This dates back to the 19th century when chestnuts were staple dishes of many peasant populations in mountainous regions, where growing cereal was tricky, if not impossible!
