Very popular in the USA, for historical reasons, sweetcorn has never really made an heroic entry into Europe – still less onto our babies’ plates. But that was before the successful partnership between the sweet taste of our cereal and the sturdy character of farm duck: and suddenly, sweetcorn is no lame duck anymore.
Because there’s every chance the purists will hold it against us: but NO, sweetcorn is not a vegetable, but a cereal. Because there’s every chance they will forgive us too: as YES, sweetcorn possesses a number of nutritional virtues comparable to other cereals, and YES, it is absolutely delicious. Especially when it’s teamed up with farm duck.
